AIDS Awareness
Presenters: Madeleine Bushnell of BCAP

Madeline Bushnell is the Community Outreach Coordinator for BCAP. The Mission of Boulder County AIDS Project is to provide support, advocacy and education to those in our community who are infected with or affected by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and to serve as an outreach and information center to prevent further transmission of HIV and the resulting Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

This call2action is paired with AIDS Awareness Shorts Programming screening Thursday at 6:00pm: Unbreakable Spirit and Project Hopeful.

Environmental Awareness

This program is paired with an Environmental Shorts program screening Thursday Sept 20th at 3:30pm: Carbon for Water and Boy Who’d Never Seen the Rain. Join us to talk about community opportunities for sharing, learning, and taking action toward sustainability with progressive ideas.

Sunday Sept 23rd following the film “Haiti: Where Did the Money Go?” – Kelly Barn 
Cost: Included in ticket price

Michele Mitchell is the director and producer of the film “Haiti: Where Did the Money Go?”   that asks the pivotal question–why did so much money but so little relief? And why are so many still living in squalor? Michele will be speaking on her film and provide helpful resources on how to donate money for relief and humanitarian aid.

Latina Culture, Family Dynamics, Coming Out 
Presenter: Rose Garcia

Come see Rose Garcia of the REAL L WORD share her story of coming out to her devout Catholic family and how their reaction affected her life.   Being of Puerto Rican heritage significantly impacted how she shared her truth.  Have the opportunity to have an open dialogue about your own experience and share thoughts about family dynamics, support, lack of acceptance and coming out.

Living with Dyslexia  
Presenters: Students and Teachers From Denver Academy

This program is paired with the film The Big Picture, screening at 2:45p in the Nomad Theatre. Come hear the students and teachers from Denver Academy share their stories of living and thriving with dyslexia.

Sex Work Awareness
Presenters: SWAN Colorado
Friday, Sept 21st at 8:30p- Education Center
Cost: FREE

Join SWAN Colorado, a support agency for current or former sex workers. SWAN works on education, legislation, harm reduction and advocacy for sex work to be recognized as a career choice; SWAN also supports pro-sex research. SWAN supports adult consensual sex work and ONLY using harm reduction techniques.

This program is paired with Scarlet Road, screening at 7pm in the Nomad Theatre.

Toward a Positive Peace: Peace Talks

Wednesday Sept 19th and Thursday Sept 20th at 12pm – Education Center: Students Only
Cost: FREE

Students join members of the Naropa Peace Studies and CU Peace and Conflict programs in a discussion and interactive experience in conflict transformation, after Wednesday and Thursday’s Peace Programming student screening.
