BolderLife’s Newest Staff Member
We are happy to welcome Renata Heberton as a new member of BLF staff. Renata is living in Denver and she will support the Educational Outreach branch of the project and reaches out to organizations whose work is reflected in the films, so that they can come share what they are doing with the festival participants to initiate further learning, dialogue and opportunities for action.
BolderLife Festival: Renata, you are brand new in our BolderLife-Family. How did you get involved to BolderLife Festival?
Renata: I learned about from my good friend Shaima (she is the Production Manager of BolderLife) who has been working on the project this year and was sharing all that the festival aims to achieve and how much fun she is having being a part of this initiative. I currently have some extra time that I had been wanting to give so when I heard there was an opportunity to support BolderLife and jumped on it!
BolderLife Festival: Why do you believe in the vision and the mission and the vision of the BolderLife Festival?
Renata: I believe that by creating platforms for learning, sharing, dialoguing and bringing the larger community together we inspire and deepen the work so urgently needed in facing the many challenges we face in our world today. The BolderLife Festival does just this.
BolderLife Festival: What is your job with the team at BolderLife? What are you doing within the next few weeks?
Renata: I am mainly supporting the Educational Outreach branch of the project and reaching out to organizations whose work is reflected in the films, so that they can come share what they are doing with the festival participants to initiate further learning, dialogue and opportunities for action.
BolderLife Festival: What are you doing when you are not working for BolderLife Festival?
Renata: I work at an organization that supports people who are experiencing homelessness. My specific program focuses on working with and supporting the incredible individuals, couples and families who are transitioning out of our shelter program who continue to face challenges in gaining and maintaining stability in their lives.
BolderLife Festival: What do you expect from the festival films and plays?
Renata: This festival represents so many aspects of the human experience and the challenges and inspirations that come from our individual and collective struggle and experience of overcoming. With this my main expectation is that of learning, enrichment, inspiration and a feeling of connection and re-connection to the many different communities whose experiences are reflected in the films and plays.
BolderLife Festival: What would you say to the world: Why should people come to the festival?
Renata: I would say people should come to be inspired, to learn, to expand their understanding and awareness of our world, to have new thoughts and contemplations and to be a part of a community of sharing and learning from each other through film, plays and dialogue.
BolderLife Festival: What are you looking forward to mostly?
Renata: All of the above
Thank you, Renata. We are happy to have you on board!
