Welcome to BolderLife Festival – Recap and Prospect
In its third year running, the international BolderLife Festival is a film, theatre, music, art and education event. It provides a platform for extraordinary people to share life stories, purpose, and innovation through the arts and education. Our festival topics and setting empower our community to question paradigms and explore new ways of thinking, communicating and living. We expect our largest turnout this year due to high demand for our student program and the fact that we hold strong in our support for Indie Colorado Films. The Festival will be held at the SIE Center, 2510 Colfax Ave. in Denver, this December 2nd – 8th, 2013.
A Recap of the BolderLife Festival 2012
The 2012 Festival started September, 19th with the Audience Choice award-winning film “Town of Runners,” and ran through Sunday, 23rd at the Nomad Theatre in North Boulder. Filmmakers from around the country were in attendance as well as talented Featured Presenters. This year also marked the beginning of the BolderLife Student Outreach Program. Our platform was a selection of films and speakers handpicked from the main festival program. Our audience was Denver Academy youth. One-hundred and fifty students watched films and participated in open panel discussions. The level of participation, active involvement and enthusiasm from the students was staggering and inspiring. We had more students, teachers and parents then we could imagine inquire about dates and program information for the 2013 event. In response to the overwhelming enthusiasm, we decided to expand the student portion of the festival to attract more school and student involvement.
The Basics of BolderLife Festival 2013
Due to the high demand for our Student Outreach Program, the festival dates were changed from our September time slot to better support the school calendar. This year, the BolderLife Festival will run December 2nd-8th (with the Student Outreach Program running December 2nd-6th). The 7 day event will present 30 international, thought provoking and message based films (e.g. Festival Award Winners from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Belgium, Australia), 15 educational offerings, 6 original, short plays (international writers, local directors and actors), live music, and dance performances from a handful of local artists. Local artists’ work will be showcased in the lobby and theater. Please find all current news about the 2013 program at http://www.bolderlifefestival.com/
